Outdoor art exhibition in the Music Center courtyard in downtown Los Angeles. The artist shot 5 second snippets of dancers with some absurdly high framerate in HD. Stretched into 10 or so minutes, the giant projects are absolutely hypnotic. Dance, for me, is more about a sequence of positions. However, for this, the emphasis was on form; beautiful, silent, still images. It's easier for the eyes to track larger movements, but because of the slow speed, you start noticing blinking eyes and the ruffling of clothing. The effect felt like CG, yet at the same time the dancers and the movements looked way too real and organic to be fake. Was a blast dancing outdoors with former or present art school kids to Jason Bentley's mix.
